You cannot get a Generation Home mortgage while using the First Homes Scheme.
What is the First Homes Scheme?
The First Homes Scheme helps local first-time buyers onto the property ladder by offering homes at a discount of at least 30% compared to the market price.
When the property is sold, that same percentage must be passed on to future first-time buyers. This means that these homes will always be sold below market value.
Why can't I get a Generation Home mortgage while using this scheme?
At the moment we cannot lend on First Home Scheme properties because there are sale price and buyer restrictions placed upon the property.
The First Homes Scheme requires that your home be sold below market value to a first-time buyer.
