When calculating how much we can lend to help you buy your home, we set the boost at 15% of the property's value.
The usual split is a 5% deposit, a 15% boost, and an 80% mortgage.
If your property is worth £220,000, that means your deposit would be worth £11,000, your boost would be worth £33,000, and the mortgage would cover the remaining £187,000.
If you have a bigger deposit, say 8%, the boost would still be worth 15%, and the mortgage would shrink to cover the remaining 77%.
