When will my Gen H mortgage appear on my credit file?

We don’t know exactly how long it takes for your new mortgage to appear on your credit file.

It seems to take around 3 months for your mortgage to appear on your credit file, but this can vary for a few reasons. Rest assured that we report loan data to all three credit agencies every month – yours included!

How does reporting to credit agencies work?

In March 2025, we started reporting your mortgage credit data to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Previously, we had only reported to Experian.

If you had a mortgage with us before March 2025, your mortgage will only show on Experian prior to this date.

Although we previously only reported to Experian, the information is entered into the CAIS database, a shared lender database that reports consumer credit commitments. This is visible to all other lenders who have access to CAIS.

We report loan data to each credit agency on the 10th of each month. If your mortgage has only recently completed, try waiting one more month to see if it appears on your file.

There are a few reasons your mortgage might not yet be showing on your credit file.

It could be:

  • A delay with the credit reference agency processing the data we have provided them.

  • An address mismatch if you haven’t updated your new address with your bank or credit card provider, or the bank/credit card provider hasn’t updated the address on your credit file.

The last thing to note is that Gen H is the trading name for Imagine Mortgages Limited.

If you can’t see your mortgage on your file, have a look for Imagine Mortgages Limited, too.
