Gen H asks that everyone on the mortgage sets up a Direct Debit.
Because you are all jointly responsible for mortgage repayments.
Even if you are not contributing to the monthly mortgage payment, we still require you to set up a Direct Debit.
Please note that we will never charge against your Direct Debit without your knowledge and will always contact you first.
You are in control
Everyone manages their finances in different ways. While we ask that everyone on the mortgage sets up a Direct Debit, you control who contributes what towards mortgage repayments.
For example, if you are buying with your partner and your mum as an Income Booster, and your CMI (Contractual Monthly Instalment - mortgage repayment) is £1,500.
You could each contribute £500.
You and your partner could contribute £1,000 from a joint account and your mum could contribute £500.
You could pay the full £1,500 and set your mum's Direct Debit at £0.
You could pay £1,000, your partner could pay £300 and your mum could pay £200.
The options are endless! It comes down to what works for you and your buying group.
Please keep in mind that if you want to track who has contributed what towards the mortgage, individual Direct Debits are key to ensuring the payment history is clear.
